Effect of Hydrogen Addition on the Energetic and Ecologic Parameters of an SI Engine Fueled by Biogas

The global policy solution seeks to reduce the usage of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, biogas (BG) represents a solutions these problems. use could help cope with increased amounts waste fuels. Biogas be used in compressed natural (CNG) engines, but engine electronic control unit (ECU) needs modified. In this research, spark ignition (SI) was tested for mixtures hydrogen (volumetric concentration 0, 14, 24, 33, 43%). all experiments, two cases timing (ST) were used: first an optimal mixture second CNG. results show that increases combustion quality reduces incomplete products. Because BG’s lower burning speed, advanced ST brake thermal efficiency (BTE) by 4.3% when running on biogas. Adding 14 vol% (H2) speed enhances BTE 2.6% at CNG (CNG ST) 0.6% (mixture ST). Analyses rate heat release (ROHR), temperature, pressure increase cylinder carried out using utility BURN AVL BOOST software.
